LONGCHAMP: MADE IN CHINA vs MADE IN FRANCE? [COMPARISON]

This topic has been posted on my Youtube channel.

MADE IN CHINA vs MADE IN FRANCE?

Are made in china bags real? Apparently they are! I bought mine from an authorized seller at the airport in Hong Kong on my way to Japan. Let me tell you the moment I touched the bag I knew it felt different. How did I know? It's because I have one that is made in France.

***Please note my MADE IN FRANCE bag was bought est. 2013 in Europe and MADE IN CHINA est. 2018 in Hong Kong.***

The QUALITY, CRAFTSMANSHIP, and TEXTURE was a dead give away.

LETS GET STARTED...

MADE IN FRANCE - Interior of the leather feels VERY soft and flimsy. Also smaller leather details.

MADE IN CHINA - Interior isn't as soft and has larger leather texture/details.

MADE IN FRANCE - Seems closer to the edges of the zipper ring and more indentation.

MADE IN CHINA - More space between the letter/logo and the edges of the zipper ring.

MADE IN FRANCE - Logo and leather grain is very soft. Colour is even throughout entirely.

MADE IN CHINA - Logo and leather texture seems to be stamped quite hard and obvious. Colours are also never throughout the leathered surface.

MADE IN FRANCE - Overall handle is extremely soft to the touch and sits over the shoulder nicely. The edges show some peek-a-boo leather too.

MADE IN CHINA - Overall handle is very stiff and feels more plastic-like. Sits over shoulder as if it's a brand new bag floating. Edges are entirely sealed up and feels hard.

MADE IN FRANCE - The stitching is super close to the edge of the leather as possible. Also the colour of the leather and stitching are very complimentary. The edge of the leather like the handle also show the leather and soft cut.

MADE IN CHINA - The stitching isn't as detailed and close to the edge of the leather. The leather colour and stitching is very clashing and highly contrasted. The edge of the leather like the handle is clean cut, hard, and completely sealed up.

MADE IN CHINA - Top view - see post above.

I hope this post helped! These are just a few things I've noticed between my bags. They may have already changed their manufacturing styles and process but I am not up to date with that. This is simply showcasing the two bags that I own and they happen to be made in two different places.

See you in my next post 😘
